ABOUT RUSTIC RIVEROur ceremony sites and amenities

1
The Barn

Our 5,000 square foot barn has been standing 50′ tall since 1899!  All of the barn wood is the original wood it was built with, with the exception of the flooring, which we had to replace for safety reasons. We did replace it with the same tree family and size of the original floor in order to keep as much of the original look as possible. Naturally, this is one of our favorite features of the property and we are sure you will love it as well.

2
The Pergola

Take your first steps as a married couple, down our 100 foot white pillar pergola! Made out of old wood, it is strung with lights and between every other pole, running down both sides,  hangs  vintage wooden window frames. The HUGE yard area is perfect to host your ceremony and unlimited guests. The area next to the pergola can also host your reception or line your tables under the pergola for a very unique, classy dining experience. This pergola is a staple at our venue and truly sets the scene for a romantic wedding ceremony place or as a perfect photo opp!

The Courtyard

We knew the garden-turned-courtyard would be absolutely gorgeous for hosting wedding ceremonies and it most definitely is!  At the east end of the garden, grape vines droop down the arbor to reveal a peak-a-boo entrance for the bride, while the west end offers views of the river. Aligning the isle with church pews and wood benches, this courtyard is a beautiful setting that offers a close location to the bar and reception area. This is one of several ceremony sites available for choosing. This ceremonial site can seat up to 300 guests.

2
The River's Edge

The pristine beauty of the property’s 900 feet of the Pend Oreille River’s edge is drop dead gorgeous from dawn till dusk. Your wedding party and guests will never tire of this view. The beach and river make an elaborate background for your ceremony or photos. The strategically placed gazebo and row of lavender on each side of it, right down by the river’s edge, adds to your special day’s tranquil setting. Adding the over night option to your package allows you to further enjoy the true peace and relaxation the river has to offer.

3
The Bridal Suite

With 3 areas to get ready in, your Bridal Party will feel relaxed and stress free! The bridal room consists of two long cosmetic bars with 5 stations with large mirrors, a hair station and a full bath. This large accommodating area is perfect for everyone; including mom, grandma and the photographer, to fit in and comfortably join in on those precious moments before the ceremony. The Bridal Headquarters are housed inside the Farmhouse to allow for easy access to anything else one may need… coffee station; extra rooms; 2 full bathrooms; over sized closets to hold the gowns, dresses and tux; a gathering area for friends and family; as well as a separate side entrance for the Bride to sneak in and out of.

2
The Groomsman Cabin

From having it’s own private porch area out back that overlooks the creek, to a backgammon and poker table, this one is sure to keep the guys entertained and allow the Bridal Party to tend to their own preparations for the day. The inside gives a “man cabin” feel with a half wall of galvanized metal, and the other half pine wood. It also has the original brick fireplace that keeps it’s 1917 cozy cabin vibe.

3
The Farmhouse

OVERNIGHT LODGING
The 1917 farmhouse offers overnight lodging for guest, as well as hosts the Bridal Headquarters.  It offers 3 bedrooms: 2 queen and one full size bed.  Additionally, there are 2 toddler beds and some bunk beds, creating sleeping accommodations for 10+.  There are 2 full bathrooms, laundry facilities, and is a turn-key home; meaning we supply the basic necessities: dishes, towels, bedding, coffee pot, keurig, laundry and dish soap, shampoos, soaps, etc.
*Any food/drink items will need to be supplied by the occupants.

2
School House Kitchen

This 1917 Schoolhouse was moved to the property from the Camp 1 Logging Camp Headquarters. It is said to have been one of the first schoolhouses in the area, hosting a one room school with a small area in the back where the teacher lived.

While we honor it’s historical background, it is used as the base camp for any caterers or friends and family wishing to serve food on site or make their own flower arrangements. This is a preparation kitchen and does not host the requirements for a commercial kitchen. It houses both a regular sized and commercial sized fridge, which will easily fit a wedding cake, flowers and/or several large dishes of food. It is furnished with countertops and cupboards along the west side of the building for storage and food prep! It also has a large island with open shelving is used for storing some decorations and supplies.

The Bar House

Centrally located on the property, the bar house is equipped with multiple fridges for all beverages, serving counters on both sides of the building, and space for a full serving staff.

The Bar House is limited to beer and wine only, no hard liquor is allowed to be served on the premises.

2
Campgrounds

There is plenty room for tents or sleeping out under the stars. Being this far out of the city, we often have crystal clear skies which makes for amazing star gazing opportunities! We do not have perfectly, well groomed areas set aside for camping, or that takes away from the true camping experience. However, the forestry is very spaced out and there are plenty of camp spots, some right along the creek! There is also camping in the open area along the Pend Oreille River if you prefer to camp in the open near the bon fire and yard games.

We are in the woods, so keeping mind that we do get the occasional wildlife, as well as ticks and mosquitoes. Please plan accordingly and have a secure place to keep any food items or put them in the School House Kitchen… bears are not cute or funny when they are looking for your food.
